Painting cabinets is detail work. Kitchen cabinets are handled every day and collect grease, so paint only lasts when the prep is done right. We remove and label every door, drawer and hinge, degrease and sand every surface, prime with a bonding primer and finish with a cabinet-grade enamel. The result is a smooth, durable finish and a kitchen that looks new, without the cost and mess of tearing out cabinets.
Cabinet painting is priced by the number of doors and drawers, their condition, whether you are changing colour, and whether the cabinet boxes and island are included. Every job starts with a free on-site visit and a fixed-price written quote, so the price we quote is the price you pay. To get a head start, tell us roughly how many doors and drawers you have in our quote form.
Regular wall paint stays soft and chips on cabinets. We use hard-curing cabinet and trim enamels from brands like Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, Cloverdale and Behr, in satin or semi-gloss so they wipe clean. We can match any colour from these brands.
Most kitchens take several working days, because each coat of primer and enamel needs time to dry before the next. You can usually keep using your kitchen during the project. Enamels keep hardening for a few weeks afterwards, so we will tell you how gently to treat the doors at first.
Based in Woodstock, our crew works along the Highway 401 corridor in Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, London and Woodstock, plus nearby towns. Pair this with interior painting or exterior painting in the same visit.
What sets Patel Painters Pro apart for cabinet projects.
Doors Off, Labelled
Every door and drawer is removed and labelled, never painted in place.
Degreased First
Kitchen grease is removed before sanding, so the paint actually bonds.
Bonding Primer
A primer made for cabinet surfaces goes on before any colour.
Hard-Wearing Enamel
Cabinet-grade enamel cures hard and wipes clean.
Usually, yes. Painting keeps your existing cabinet boxes, doors and countertops in place, so you avoid demolition and installation costs. Your fixed-price quote will show exactly what it costs.
Solid wood and MDF cabinets paint very well. Laminate can often be painted with the right bonding primer. Peeling thermofoil usually cannot be painted successfully. We check your cabinets at the free estimate and tell you honestly.
Yes, for the most part. Doors and drawers are off for a few days, but you can still use your sink, fridge and stove.
Most clients paint the doors, drawer fronts and cabinet exteriors. We can paint the interiors too and will include it in your quote if you want it.
We remove, store and reinstall your existing hardware, and adjust the doors so they close properly.
Yes. Vanities, laundry cabinets and built-ins use the same process and can be added to the same quote.
