Our 6-Step Interior Painting Process
1. Free estimate. We visit, measure each room, talk through colours and finishes, and send a detailed written quote, usually within 48 hours.
2. Protect. Furniture is moved to the centre of the room and covered. Floors are covered with drop cloths, and switch plates and outlet covers are removed.
3. Prep. We fill nail holes and dents, patch cracks, sand rough spots, caulk gaps in trim, and spot-prime repairs so they don’t show through.
4. Paint. We cut in by hand for straight lines at ceilings and trim, then roll two full coats for even colour and coverage
.5. Clean up. Covers come off, outlet plates go back on, furniture goes back, and we vacuum and tidy up every day
.6. Final walkthrough. We walk every room with you. If anything doesn’t look right, we fix it on the spot. No arguments, no extra charges.

How much does it cost to paint a room in Kitchener-Waterloo?
Most single bedrooms are $400 to $700 and a full main floor is $2,500 to $4,500, plus HST. Ceilings, trim, doors and big colour changes add to the price. After a free on-site visit you get a fixed-price written quote, and that is the price you pay. See our KW painting cost guide for more detail.
How long does interior painting take?
A single bedroom usually takes one day. A full main floor takes three to five days, depending on ceilings, trim and repairs. We give you the schedule with your written quote.
What prep work is included?
We fill nail holes and small cracks, sand patches smooth, caulk gaps along trim and spot-prime repairs before painting. Floors and furniture are covered before any work starts.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Please move small items, breakables and wall hangings. We move larger furniture to the centre of the room, cover it, and put it back when we are done. Our prep checklist covers the rest.
What paint do you use?
We mainly use Sherwin-Williams interior paints such as Duration and Emerald, in low-odour formulas. Benjamin Moore, Cloverdale or Behr are available on request, and we can quote labour only if you already have your paint.
Can we stay home while you paint?
Yes. We work room by room so the rest of your home stays usable, and we clean up at the end of each day.
How soon can we use the room again?
Walls are usually dry to the touch within a few hours, so you can move back in that evening. Wait a day before re-hanging pictures and about two weeks before scrubbing the walls while the paint fully cures.
